Meyer Memorial Trust is an Oregon-based foundation, committed to “investing in change at the systemic level to ease inequities and disparities.” It has partnered with project^ in pursuit of a new, build-to-suit, 20,000 square-foot headquarters in historic Albina. Formerly a towing yard, this overlooked site adjacent to the I-5 freeway, is transformed by compelling architecture and vibrant, indigenous vegetation. Each step in the development process has been grounded in values of environmental sustainability as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion. The project is on track for Energy Trust of Oregon’s “Path to Net Zero” and LEED v4 Platinum certification and features an iconic roofline, shaped to maximize solar gain on the roof-mounted photovoltaic panels. Construction is tracking 45% Minority or Women-Owned Business (MSB-WSB) participation and will serve as a model for responsible equitable development.
