Stephen Gomez

Business and community leader with experience in large corporations, small-business, startups, nonprofits, and philanthropy. He believes the built environment can and must positively impact the lives and experience of the community.

At project^, Stephen focuses on project management, leading developments from entitlement through construction. His diverse business experiences enable him to work through project teams to solve the complex problems innovative projects commonly encounter.

Before joining project^, Stephen co-owned and operated the fine-dining restaurant Serratto in Portland, and also served as Board Chair at Nau Inc., helping to raise $35-million in start-up capital. Prior to this, Stephen served as the Corporate Vice-President Global Apparel at Nike Inc., overseeing all aspects of a $3-billion global business including finance, human resources, marketing, operations, and sales.

His civic work includes currently serving as Board President at Open School, a leading alternative school for disconnected youth in Portland, and has held board roles at various non-profits including The Bicycle Transportation Alliance, New Avenues for Youth, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and Cycle Oregon. In 2017, The Portland Metropolitan Association of Realtors named Stephen the Portland First Citizen for his civic significant engagement and commitment to the community.
